Porter School of Environmental Studies Building

In a milestone for sustainable building in Israel, the Porter School of Environmental Studies Building has been inaugurated, providing space for environmental teaching, research, exhibitions, conferences and demonstrations of environmental technologies. The EcoBuilding includes a Capsule suspended high over the atrium and the EcoWall, a thermal-solar tubes system for energy production.

Mckinnon Center For Global Affairs At Occidental College

Design: Belzberg Architects. The renovation and adaptive re-use of Occidental College’s historic Johnson Hall, integrates the enduring traditional qualities of a small liberal arts college with new educational practices.

The historic exterior of the building is preserved, whilst the interior is fundamentally rethought. The effect is fully transformative: rather than simply housing technology, the building has become technology itself.

Suzhou Business School Building

Design: BDP, architects wins commission to design the International Business School in the ancient city of Suzhou which lies 80 km to the west of Shanghai. The school makes up the last building of the Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) south campus. BDP was appointed in 2012 to masterplan the large-scale campus to provide world-class teaching, laboratory and research facilities, and has already designed five faculty buildings on the site.

In order to accommodate these activities the department badly needs additional research space on its already busy site.

Emerson College Hollywood, Los Angeles

Emerson College Hollywood

Design: Morphosis, architects. This new Los Angeles facility is located in the heart of Hollywood at 5960 West Sunset Boulevard, and designed by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Thom Mayne, the facility will house around 220 students, as well as residence hall staff and several visiting faculty in more than 100,000 sqft of classroom facilities, production and performance studios.

Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design

Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design in London

The college is based in a refurbished Georgian townhouse complex in Soho and offers an introduction to all aspects of the fashion industry, from the international fashion calendar to the retail sector, from styling and art direction to fashion journalism and PR. Business and social media are also covered. It is designed to help students understand which aspect of the fashion industry they want to go into.
