We feature Olympic Spa Hotel, San Giovanni di Fassa, Vigo, Trentino, by NOA. This new extension lets rooms nestle in the Alpine meadow, and creates a surprising sauna overlooking the forest.

Design: Joseph Grima/Space Caviar. Arcipelago di Ocno, a new aquatic installation on the Italian Capital of Culture 2016 waterfront by this Genoa-based architectural studio. The outline evokes the lotus.

Design: Giordano Hadamik Architects. A new contemporary entrance is built within an existing stone shed which leads to a subterranean house extension – a new living space for the old mansion which is connected below ground with a glass roof corridor.
Design: Giordano Hadamik Architects. The highly isolated subterranean shelf and the efficient control and use of solar and renewable energy, reduces significantly the energy consumption of the building while obtaining a superior house comfort, bringing the building up to Passivhaus standards.

The cell ecological proposal is thus revealed a mix of simplicity and high technology, reversibility and durability, easy detectability and feasibility.

Snøhetta Wins Competition for Cable Car in Bolzano, Italy. The steep Virgolo/Virgl mountain in Bolzano, Italy has been practically inaccessible to visitors for almost forty years, following the close of the city’s historic funicular in 1976.
As the result of a 2006 international competition, the BOLLES+WILSON Masterplan unfolds from the entrance arch of the 12th century convent: Leading from Via Maria Alinda Bonacci Brunamonti (which in turn leads back to the nearby historic city centre) into the new Piazza Cecilia Coppoli (1426-1500, poetess and humanist).
