Architect: MAD. As a recent realization of the concept Shanshui City, Chaoyang Park Plaza has begun construction. It marks another milestone in one of the practices of MAD’s design theory. This project pushes the boundary of the urbanization process in modern cosmopolitan life by creating a dialogue between artificial scenery and natural landscapes.
Design: LATITUDE Architects. Coffee shops, restaurants, libraries and the likes became indubitable extensions of our own place. In this particular occasion, the architects have been commissioned to explore the possibilities of combining the functions of a standard coffee shop settlement with the idea of public visual art.
The space is organized with two floors. The first floor has been opened up by erasing all its façade and, therefore, becoming an extension of the public space.
Once completed, the CCTV building will transform the usually inaccessible environment of media and television production and give access to the public via the ‘Visitor’s Loop’, a dedicated path of circulation.

The Inside-Out Museum, located on the foothills of Fragrant Mountain to the west of Beijing was completed in December 2012. Given that the structure was already designed by CADRG, the largest architectural conglomerate in China, the present project was limited to the design of its interiors.
